Shopify Order Sync v5 Documentation

Overview

The Shopify Order Sync App helps merchants maintain accurate order records in Shopify for purchases made through Buy with Prime (BwP). The app ensures that orders placed via BwP are automatically marked as "fulfilled" in Shopify and are updated throughout their lifecycle, aligning with Shopify's native fulfillment process and accurately reflecting statuses from BwP. To fully utilize this app, merchants need to ensure that their inventory settings are correctly configured for multi-managed inventory.

Key Features

  • Automatic Fulfillment & Updates: Orders placed through Buy with Prime (BwP) are automatically marked as "fulfilled" in Shopify, reflecting the order's status in line with Shopify’s native fulfillment process. They are updated as the order statuses change in Buy with Prime.

  • Programmatic Location Creation: Upon installation, the app automatically creates a fulfillment service and location in Shopify, reducing the need for manual configuration and ensuring a streamlined setup.

  • Customer Data Sync: The app synchronizes customer data from Buy with Prime to Shopify, matching customers based on their email addresses. This integration provides merchants with a more comprehensive view of their customers' shopping behaviors across platforms.

Installation Guide

  1. In your Buy with Prime console, go to Marketplace, find Shopify Order Sync for Buy with Prime by Alloy, click the card, then click Add App.
  2. Review the authorization request and click Authorize. After a short load, you'll be asked to authenticate your Shopify account, which you can do via the OAuth modal after inputting your store domain.
  3. Once authenticated and installed, your integration is good to go, and Alloy will start passing your Buy with Prime order data to Shopify.

FAQ

Q: Why are orders marked as “fulfilled” in Shopify immediately after being placed?
A: This aligns with Shopify’s fulfillment model, where an order is considered fulfilled once a shipping label is generated. It assures merchants that the order is in process and will be shipped by Amazon.

Q: Can I still track delivery status after an order is marked as fulfilled?
A: Yes, the “Delivery Status” in Shopify will update when the order is actually delivered, separate from the "fulfilled" status.

Q: Will this update affect my existing ecommerce tech setup?
A: Most tech stacks will benefit from the automatic adjustments provided by the app. However, if you've customized your process, such as mitigating duplicate fulfillment, review your configuration post-installation and inform Alloy of any desired changes.

Q: Will I need to log into my Alloy account?
A: The majority of merchants never need to log into their Alloy accounts. However, if you notice any errors in your Shopify experience, logging into your Alloy account via the BwP Merchant Console app page can give you more insight into why certain executions are returning errors.
