SFTP

SSTP (SSH File Transfer Protocol or Secure File Transfer Protocol) is a network protocol that provides file access, file transfer, and file management over any reliable data stream. This protocol assumes that it is run over a secure channel, such as SSH, that the server has already authenticated the client, and that the identity of the client user is available to the protocol.

Alloy's SFTP connector allows you to add SFTP as a data source or destination in your workflow. Businesses use SFTP to securely transfer files between departments, partners, customers, and their internal systems.

For example, as an E-commerce company, you may work with a 3PL (third-party logistics) provider that still completes many fulfillment processes manually. This 3PL provider might require you to send a daily list of your shipments for them to begin the fulfillment process. With Alloy, you can schedule this task automatically. Orders received from your e-commerce store (powered by Shopify, BigCommerce, or any other platform) can be converted into the appropriate file format and sent securely to your 3PL partners.
